If you’re planning to spend a weekend or week in Boynton Beach Florida you more than likely are planning to spend the vast majority of the time at the gorgeous beaches. However, you never know when you’re going to run into some bad weather or the beach just get a tad bit tiresome. When that happens, it is always wise to have at least one backup plan ready to set in motion. We understand how hard it can be to find quality attractions at the last minute. With that in mind, we found not one but three fun attractions and destinations that the whole family can enjoy on the days when the beach just isn’t what you want.

Gulf Stream Park

This is an incredible little park that is still close to the beach that is going to provide a little bit of much-needed shade. It features a great playground for the kids, picnic tables, and barbecue grills for an incredible lunch under the palm trees. In fact, Gulf stream Park is an incredible area to watch the sunrise. That is if you’re willing to get up that early while on vacation! However, after seeing several sunrises at this location, it is definitely a recommended activity, at least one day.

Schoolhouse Children’s Museum and Learning Center

Every vacation should always allow some time for a little bit of learning whether it is for an adult or child. Across this country, there are thousands of incredible learning opportunities in the Schoolhouse Children’s Museum and Learning Center is just one of them. This child’s Museum features many interactive hands-on exhibits about South Florida’s early history. This is an inexpensive attraction to get away from the sun and enjoy a little bit of air conditioning during those hot summer months. Take the time to enjoy the activities with your child and then go back to the beach for a little bit more fun in the sun and water.

Mangrove Park

This is an incredible natural area that is not far from the beach that includes a coastal forest with a boardwalk trail. The suspended walkway that is featured over the water is going to be a big hit for the young kids and adults alike! It is an absolutely breathtaking area that allows for a closer look at the areas natural surroundings. The shaded area is an incredible way to find a little bit of peace and solitude from the sometimes crowded beach area.
